Use the guide posted below to learn how to search for current openings and apply for them using the online Big Y job application. In-store (retail/management), corporate, and facilities management careers can all be searched/applied for by going to the company’s careers page.

  • About the Company: Big Y is an American chain of supermarkets based out of Springfield, Massachusetts. The company operates over 70 locations throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut, and employs more than 12,000 people. Big Y was founded in 1936.

Step 1 Click here to open the Big Y careers page in another tab/window.

Step 2 – Scroll down the page and then click the link as outlined in red in the below image.


Step 3 – Click which location (state – Massachusetts or Connecticut) that you want to submit an application to.


Step 4 – Review the list of current openings and then click the link of the position that you’re interested in.


Step 5 – Read the job description/requirements, and then click the button as outlined in the screenshot.


Step 6 – Sign in to your account, or use the form on the right side of the page to create a new account. Enter the following details into the form:

  • Legal first name
  • Legal last name
  • Email address
  • Desired username
  • Desired password
  • Password hint


Step 7 – Click the “register” button to load the next section.

Step 8 – Review the terms/conditions and hit the “Next” button.

Step 9 – Attach a resume if you have one.

Step 10 – Personal Information – Submit the following:

  • Legal first name
  • Legal last name
  • Address
  • Country
  • City
  • State
  • Zip/postal code
  • Primary phone
  • Email address
  • Social security number
  • Re-type social security number
  • What prompted you to apply?


Step 11 – Fill in the required details for the remaining sections of the form:

  • Disclosures
  • Pre-employment questions
  • Application information
  • EEO questions
  • Review your application
